COMMITTEE 2017 - 18
Josh is a final year medical student currently completing a BSc in Urgent and Emergency Care in ED at King's College Hospital. He has been on the EMS committee for 4 years. His role as president involves maintaining an oversight and direction for the society. Outside of medicine, Josh is involved in music and theatre and his clinical interests are EM/PHEM, anaesthetics and abs and gynae.
VICE PRESIDENT/PCP LEAD
Shadman is a final year medical student and has been on the committee for 3 years. His interests include Emergency Medicine, Intensive Care and Cardiology. As Vice President and PCP Lead Shad is heavily involved in the running of the EMS Prehospital Care Programme. Outside of medicine, Shadman enjoys travelling and has interests in Physics and Engineering. Shadman is also a Volunteer Responder at his local ambulance trust.
Lewis is a 3rd year medical student in his second year on the committee. His main interests are Prehospital Emergency Medicine and Trauma. As part of the events team, Lewis' role is to organise events throughout the year. Outside of Medicine Lewis is an Officer Cadet in the University of London Officer Training Corps as he is keen on pursuing a career with the Army after graduating.
Charlotte is a fourth year medical student and her interests include emergency medicine, intensive care and neurology. Outside of medicine, Charlotte enjoys training in the martial art of Taekwondo, sketching, and walking her dog. Now on her second year on the committee, Charlotte is responsible for obtaining sponsorship for all things money.
Anna is a fourth year medical student joining the Royal Navy after graduation, hoping to specialise in anaesthetics/intensive care. Outside of medicine, she is a keen musician (playing clarinet, oboe and saxophone) and also enjoys surfing and sailing.
William is a final year medical student and is on his third year on the committee. As website officer he helps run the website and administrate the PCP. William's medical interests include practically everything. William is also a long-distance runner, cyclist and triathlete.
Teona is a final year medical student on her second year on the EMS committee. Her role as Events Officer means that she helps organise society events. She is interested in Emergency and Acute Medicine and hopes to work in Humanitarian Aid in the future. Outside of medicine, Teona is a very keen member of the GKT Women's Rugby Club, and also enjoys running and cycling.
Ellie is a fourth year medical student currently starting her third year on the EMS committee. As an events officer, Ellie helps to organise events including monthly academic forums, PCP training events and the Extreme Medicine Conference.
Antonia is a fourth year medical student on her first year on the EMS committee. Antonia describes her interests as competitive sudoku, GKT comedy revue and gin.
Alice is a final year medical student on her first year on the committee.
Elsa is a second year medical student and is new to the EMS committee. As Sponsorship Officer her role is to obtain sponsorship for the society from external companies. Elsa is interested in Emergency medicine, Radiology and Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Outside of medicine she enjoys Rugby, Swimming and Running and is also in the Junior GB team for Luge.
Samiha is a final year medical student, on her second year on the committee. Her medical interests include emergency medicine, intensive care, cardiology, plastics and paediatrics. While her other interests include sports, volunteering and trying new things.
Michela is a third year intercalating medic and is really interested in intensive care, neurology and ophthalmology. Beside medicine she loves eating, skiing, playing the cello, meeting new people and travelling to explore new places. It is her first year on the EMS committee.
ADULT NURSING REP
Jake is the BSc Nursing Student Rep on the EMS committee in his second year of nursing, He has worked in the healthcare environment for almost 2 years as a phlebotomist and wardtheatre HCA. Jake has also travelled to Ghana to work in a Regional A&E department for 2 months.
CHILD NURSING REP
Sophie is a second year PGDip Child Nursing student. She is interested in critical care and trauma. She has a BA in Classics. Prior to starting at KCL, she worked as a dispatcher for the London Ambulance Service and volunteered as an advanced first aider with St John Ambulance. In her spare time she likes to read, go to gigs and travel.
Lizzie is a final year medical student with an interest in Emergency Medicine and Paediatrics. This is her third year on the committee. This year she is clinical rep which involves the promoting the society and organising events targeted at clinical medical students. Lizzie's interests outside of medicine include running, reading and knitting.
Nyesha is a fourth year medical student with interests in Emergency Medicine, Intensive Care and (acute) Neurology. Her role as clinical rep involves organising events most relevant to clinical medical students, as well as promoting the society. Outside of medicine, Nyesha training Muay Thai, playing drums and chilling with two of her best friends: Netflix and Spotify.
AJ is a second year medical student on his second year on the EMS committee. As a Student Rep his role involves publicising EMS events and the PCP to second year medical students. Anvar also assists in organising and running of the society. His clinical interests include Emergency Medicine, Trauma and Orthopaedics. Outside of medicine, he enjoys basketball, reading and travelling.
