COMMITTEE 2021 - 22
Razna has just finished her third year of medicine at GKT and is Intercalating in Neuro this year. It is her second year on the EMS committee. She has a keen interest in Acute medicine and Surgery. Whenever met with a spare minute, she can be found sipping bubble tea and catching scenic sunsets on walks by the Thames.
VICE PRESIDENT & PCP LEAD
Loren is a third year medical student with interests in anaesthetics, psychiatry and PHEM. Having been involved with KCLEMS since his first year, this is his second year on committee. Outside of medicine his interests include cooking, teaching and bouldering.
Saman is a fourth year medical student on his third year on committee, having intercalated in Urgent & Emergency Care. A big fan of three letter acronyms, he splits his remaining time between the RAF UAS and LAS as a volunteer emergency responder. He tries desperately to fit into the EM-Anaesthetics stereotype, and so is frequently seen wearing lycra or chinos.
Joyce is a final-year medical student in her third year on the committee. She has interests in PHEM, cardiology, and anaesthetics, and has completed her intercalated year in PHEM at Barts. When not volunteering as an Emergency Responder with London Ambulance Service, she spends her time baking and dreaming about the day she’ll own a cat sanctuary.
Emma is in her fourth year of medical school, with a previous degree in physiology from Bristol. Her interests are emergency medicine, psychiatry and palliative medicine. Outside of medicine she is trying to finesse the coveted work-life balance by running around after her toddler whilst attempting to taste test every coffee available within the M25.
Hello! I’m Shruti Doshi, a third year medic and a graduate in biomedical science from Sheffield! I have really enjoyed the excitement of emergency medicine and it’s a career I’m definitely considering! As events lead, I can’t wait to plan lots of exciting things for you all with some excellent speakers attending our events!
Jack is a 3rd year medical student and a graduate in biomedical science. Previous to studying medicine, he spent two years working as a Physician Associate in Emergency Medicine where he developed an interest in PHEM, ICM and Anaesthetics. Outside of medicine he continues to work part-time in A&E and is very passionate about widening access to medical school. During his down-time he enjoys playing guitar, keeping fit, drinking coffee and practicing mindfulness.
Siam is a third year medical student who has spent 2 long years building the courage to join the EMS commitee. He is desperately waiting to go on ambulance shifts again with the PCP program. You can find him procrastinating either by playing football, drinking bubble tea or crying over music he made himself.
Jonny is a final year medical student having joined the EMS in his first year wanting to find out more about EM. He comes to GKT as a physiology grad from Bristol where he learned the best way to get involved is to throw yourself into something wholeheartedly. Having spent some time working in healthcare since graduating, he’s sure he wants a career in medicine where every day is very different... maybe EM is the answer?
Valerie is a third year medical student and excited to be the Sponsorship Officer for this year. She has interests in emergency medicine, psychiatry, and paeds. Her accent is an interesting mix of American and British, and often gets mistaken for sounding Scottish, Canadian, or Irish.
COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER AND STAGE 1+2 REP
Aqeel is a second-year medical student and is now in his first year on EMS committee. He has a particular interest in EM, ICM and Cardiology and has recently presented at the ESC Congress. Outside of medicine, he is actively involved in the GKT Hockey Club and enjoys kayaking as well as telling people he is Northern Irish – but his favourite hobby is telling people he went to the same school as Two Door Cinema Club!
Harini has just completed her 3rd year at GKT and is excited to join the EMS committee as Treasurer. She is currently intercalating in Regenerative Medicine and Innovation Technology at King's. Her main interests are EM, Plastics and Oncology. In her spare time she loves travelling, trying new food and dancing.
Matilda is a second year adult nursing student in her firt year on EMS committee. She is interested in major trauma, and keen to get everyone involved in Emergency Medicine! Outside nursing, she plays for the GKT Hockey club.
STAGE 3 REP
Aqib is a 4th year medical student who’s just completed an intercalated BSc in physiology and is interested in emergency medicine and potentially surgery. Outside GKT he is an avid arsenal fan (unfortunately), bakes far too much and is always looking for new places to eat at!
